I miss people. No--I miss adults. I miss House with People in It. See, like, Anne's coming for a visit in about a month, and I'm a little apprehensive because I don't know exactly what she wants or expects, and earlier I was going to say that I don't know what I want or expect either, but that's not really true. I do know what I want, and it is not a new (old) wife. I just want to talk, and smile, perhaps even touch, I don't know, we'll see, but I want that to be one piece of a bigger House. I want a man. That doesn't mean I don't want women, but see? I want women as friends, as the spice in the pot, the chagrin of the other men, the laughing, the pointed awareness, the sarcasm, the sublime curviness of dizzying interaction. The mix. The melange. And then I want to go home to my man.

She told me she was my friend and I told her I was hers."
