You've come in through one of the 12,960 outside doors, or maybe you've rotated through two-thirds or so of a dimension and come in through one of the doors that are normally inaccessible from the outside--who knows. In any case, be aware that no one is going to leave anything but clues. And clues are everywhere, which in a way means they're nowhere. People leave breadcrumbs, and that's about it. Nobody's going to pop up and tell you, okay, this is what it all means. Or if they do, you should probably not trust them.
