At a high school I was part student part mentor. Hooked up with these two girls in the hall, they were not exactly ugly but definitely not the high school popular look, let's say just a little homely but not to an unpleasant degree. I had to make a speech in class later and they were there and I said a bunch of stuff off the top of my head about how you are beautiful and you have a right to be visible, a right to exist, and it doesn't matter what you look like, if you feel beautiful then you can hold yourself tall and go around and it will show through. Some boys were snickering but I went over to them and said its okay because someday, some little piece of this will sink in, and someday it will do you some good.
