I just realized, I hate bullshit. That’s why I like jobs like the post office—I mean, there’s certain kinds of bullshit involved, to be sure, but it doesn’t allow much of the personal variety. Teaching is harder because there’s so many opportunities where getting away with bullshit is possible, and maybe even encouraged. It’s not a problem if you can resist it and still get the job done.
