used to think I care but can't seem to do anything about it! now I'm wondering if maybe it's more about learning how to care, learning how to shift what you care about and then let your natural problem solving routines kick in, cuz they're actually pretty amazing when they really get revved up. "values before policy" as the candidate said maybe I just really didn't care enough--and maybe it's OK to entertain that idea--maybe I don't have to shriek it out of my head at every turn to avoid being pure evil. you've overcompensated on the skepticism re neurodiversity because you didn't realize you could embrace it AND not use it as an excuse. that accepting it as real (or at least close enough to be a WORKING theory) could be a vehicle to INCREASE responsibility, not avoid it. hard and real beats easy and phantasmagorical any damn day.
