082828 just imagining if some mystical godlike administrator walked in here and saw me babysitting (which is my bullshit job AT THE MOMENT) and said, you know, there are ways that you could be proactively (godlike administrators ALWAYS use words like PROACTIVELY) using this time to go above and beyond, be an exceptional guest teacher, extravertedly assert yourself and really advance your presence in the educational profession, and I'd be all like, yeah, I have no interest in doing that. And they'd be like then what are you here for, and I'd be like, I really don't know, and then I would quit and never come back even though I have like minus one dollar after the rent goes thru and until mom's financial aid comes in, riding that zero-sum fence, and then I would go out the next day and get another hob. And that's basically what I'm doing only with less hilarity and drama--carefully plotting and working one day a week until it happens. And it will happen. Or else. I think we're supposed to be believe that we're not entitled to a "real" job anymore. We're just supposed to thank god.
