Seems quesadillas. Widespread. Quintessentially the advertisement. American
way. Even origins. Priceless. Priceless. Privileged people like soccer
families in the suburbs with no real problems. Talking about how their kid
got treated wrong. It's all framed like we're the righteous ones, we do
everything right and other people fail us, we are the flagpole of morality
and other people make us *shake our heads.* It's supposed to make the
listener agree and sympathize and above all agree that the speaker and by
extension the listener too (because that's what we're in this club for
anyway. Right?) is the paragon here. We're normal, we're OK, the outside
world (so close and yet so far) is crazy. Which could be seen as kind of
blandly admirable, if it weren't secretly and codedly couched and soaked in
the secret victim mentality. That mentality keeps us obedient, afraid,
enslaved, and ready to fight—but only as directed.
