Lethem sez:
> Most artists are brought to their vocation when their own nascent gifts are awakened by the work of a master.
Well, "master" is also a printing term. From one, many. So, who your master is, is going to determine what you look like. And there's nothing wrong with that. Mine? When I read that statement, the first name that popped into my mind was Douglas Adams. I am not ashamed. There is no judgment in printing. The printer just runs the press. He is the definition of faithful. Other silly people make labored decisions about "content" and "design." The printer just raises an eyebrow, or shakes his head, smokes his fag, chuckles, and gets to work. Ink is ink. Paper is paper. From one, many—but minuscule variation is endless. Our beguiling, special personalities are essentially a series of niggling errors. We're all part of the same run, though—from many, one, after all.
