Some Google people made a Go app, the first really successful one?, and part of the deal is that it uses some kind of AI to formulate its strategy, so they can honestly say, "We don't know exactly how it works; we are not able to explain or predict what it's going to do," because it's creating its own processes. This is mind blowing and can obviously apply to encryption and privacy as well, and that's huge, but it also reminds me of what I've wanted for/from writing —the ultimate goal is sentience. Even along the way down that road, the process is only alive and magic and powerful when it is free from my deterministic predictable labored-over preconceptions of "meaning." Traditional writing amounts to a fortune cookie factory; I'm not interested in an assembly line for govt-approved maxims; I want to be a part of nurturing into existence the thing i have no control over, but that nonetheless leaves some indelible trace on **my** existence on its way through.
