Humans *do too* hatch from eggs, we just do it when we're around 12 instead of after a few days of sitting in a nest, and our eggs are (kind of) invisible. But make no mistake: hatching from an egg is a necessarily violent process. To pierce the structural integrity of that oh so cleverly-shaped membrane, the chick has to beat and rock and push and give it all her might. It's a feather-ruffling process, to be sure; it's not going to look calm and rational the whole time. Don't be scared. It's for the best. You can't sit on them forever.
