two things millie said: 1. how stupid it is that they try to limit what reading you’re allowed to access in grade school and middle school--“I was like, bitch, step out of the way!”--and how so much of the “young adult” fiction marketed towards middle schoolers (and basically shoved in their faces all the time) is just so generic and black-and-white and boring--“If I want to read about somebody else’s basic life, I’d look at one of my friends’ social media accounts.” 2. talking about little meme-y shits (like my student and her classmate NR) who spam the chat all the time in class--“They’re like the jocks of the online-school world.” #pdp (2017)
