070718 wild pigs Inscription about how I’m leaving out many of the most important parts goes here. We saw the wild pigs. They were black pepper colored. There were a lot of people at big creek. Some kids were jumping off the high cliff. Floated down. Got cel goggles and she promised to pay me back. Listened to the cd on the way back. Figured out why the car stinks. Don’t know if I will be able to fix it. Chowder and cold beer and stories for lunch. Millie seemed surprised when I said I mostly bought the pita bread for her. Ben and Matthew like to mention things that show they know about bears and stuff. Canoed up st Francis a ways with meg lib and cel. There were a couple of rapids too shallow to really ride over but we tried anyway. Passed a guy fishing and a four wheeler. Anne and Ben waiting for us. They took the canoe next. Went up overlook path with lib and cel, waving sticks vs spider webs. Ancient house foundation up there. You can see faraway hills, a tractor. Millie decided not to come down. Cel and lib swam and we got back in the canoe. Tried to fish but line got tangled up. cel had a cicada clutching onto her finger. She didn’t want to hurt it. We finally got it to go in a tree. Sun going behind trees. Anne made the burgers and they were good. Watched Up and it’s kind of dumb except the part about how the girl was so young when they first met, and he still loved her but had to move on but still had the grape soda cap. Beer. Sat with Anne alone by fire momentarily before the kids and marshmallows came down. Everyone joking and carrying on. I said hey is that a bat and it was and it hung around by us a long time. Matthew kind of pretended he wasn’t making a s’more for Megan. Later she said hey dad I think Matthew likes me and I was like yeah I know. They sat next to each other on the couch for lilo and stitch and I guess that was partly her being generous and partly enjoying the inarticulate adulation. In the loft I gave cel a back massage because she asked for one because she kinda hurt her back helping move the canoe, and she fell right asleep and was all golden and freckle and rounded and soft. I hope that back pain doesn’t come back to haunt her in 30 years but it probably will. It’s so amazingly cool we’ve got the ac off and windows open. Sometimes the bugs go chit-chit-chit, and sometimes they go chit-chit-chit-chit. Lib and mil switched beds tonight so mil and meg won’t fight over covers and stuff. My tick bite, that the fish bit, itches.
